General

A cross‑platform notes app (Android, iOS, Windows, macOS) with a rich editor, flexible labels, and local‑only storage by default.

No account required. Everything stays on your device. Internet is only needed for export, sharing, or Wi‑Fi transfer.

Android, iOS, Windows (WinUI), and macOS (Mac Catalyst).

Stored only on your device in a private local database. Note content never leaves your device unless you export, share, or use Wi‑Fi transfer. Nothing is uploaded or synced automatically.

Creating & Editing

From the Notes list, tap the + button (floating action button) to open a new note.

Use the editor toolbar: Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough; bulleted, numbered, and checklist lists; indent controls; font size; text color; highlight; alignment; LTR/RTL direction; undo/redo; and zoom.

Yes. Use toolbar buttons to insert hyperlinks, images, and tables (with sizing/edit controls).

Open the more options menu (⋮) in the note and choose Find.

Tap Color, pick a color, and it becomes the note background and list accent.

Labels & Organization

Labels are tags you can assign to notes. Each note can have multiple labels.

In a note, tap Label to assign labels. Manage all labels from the Labels page in the menu.

From the Notes list, apply a label filter (e.g., by navigating from a label or via prompts). A blue chip shows the active label; tap × to clear it.

Recycle Bin & Deletion

The note moves to the Recycle Bin (soft delete) and leaves the main list until restored or permanently deleted.

Open the Recycle Bin, select notes, then choose Restore or Delete.

Multi‑Select

Yes. Enter selection mode, select notes, then use the toolbar to Restore or Delete.

Export & Import (CSV)

Menu → Export/Import → CSV → Export: choose Notes and/or Labels → Generate → Share or Download.

Menu → Export/Import → CSV → Import: pick the CSV file → Import Now → review the summary.

Titles, summaries, full rich text, timestamps, deleted flag, color, and label mappings.

Wi‑Fi Transfer

A local network feature that sends notes directly between your devices. No cloud service involved.

  1. Menu → Export/Import → Wi‑Fi → Send
  2. Enter a passphrase (share it with the receiver)
  3. Optionally enable compression/encryption
  4. Continue and keep the app open

  2. Enter the same passphrase
  3. Optionally enable auto‑select and scan
  4. Pick the sender, then keep the app open

  • Devices on the same Wi‑Fi network
  • Exact same passphrase

  • Allow Local Network permission (iOS)

Settings, Theme & Language

Settings → Theme (Light, Dark, or System). A quick toggle is in the menu footer.

Settings → Language. Choose a language or follow system. RTL scripts are supported where applicable.

Data & Privacy

Yes. Everything is stored locally. Nothing is uploaded unless you export, share, or transfer via Wi‑Fi.

Wi‑Fi transfer offers optional in‑transit encryption. On‑device storage is encrypted at rest (SQLCipher) so the full database file is protected.

Backups & Migration

Export to CSV and save it in secure storage you control. Re‑import any time.

Yes. Use Wi‑Fi transfer or export/import with CSV.

Troubleshooting

Try Share instead of Download, free storage space, and verify file/storage permissions.

Ensure the CSV was generated by NembaNotes or matches the expected columns; re‑export if possible.

Split extremely large notes and limit heavy images for best performance.
